Frequently asked questions.
1. How do I order a trailer or tiny home?
Start by reading through our FAQ to get familiar with our process. Then, schedule a 1-on-1 phone call with me to discuss your preferred model, colors, and any small custom touches. After our call, I’ll send you a payment contract outlining everything we discussed. you can find that option in the (ready to purchase) tab.
2. How long does the build take?
Once the trailer shell arrives, most builds take 2-3 months to complete depending on customization and workload.
3. Can I make changes to the trailer?
Yes, you can make small changes to the build — for example, removing the AC unit or microwave, or adjusting the fridge height. These preferences can be requested during our initial phone call meeting.
Please note: You cannot make changes to the overall design or layout of the trailer once the build has started. Large appliances such as a washer and dryer cannot be added after the build begins, as I do not offer that option.
4. Do you deliver?
Yes! We can arrange delivery anywhere in the U.S. for an additional fee.
5. Can I finance my trailer?
We do not offer in-house financing, but you are welcome to use your own lender. Some clients use personal loans, RV loans, or home equity loans
6. Do you build vans or other custom projects?
Yes! In addition to trailers, I also build custom vans and mobile living setups. Let’s talk about your project idea..
7. Can you build a bigger trailer than you already have?
At the moment, I do not. I do have a larger option already available, but if you are looking for something bigger than that, I do not offer it.
8. Do your trailers come with a warranty?
Yes, Tilghman Trailers come with a 6-month warranty for the internal build and a 1-year warranty for the trailer itself.
The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials. It does not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by accidents, misuse, or modifications made after delivery.
9. Can I see a trailer in person before ordering?
Although I do not have completed trailers on site, I do allow potential clients to visit my facility to see the trailer I’m currently working on. This gives you a chance to get a feel for the size, materials, and build quality before placing your order. Please note that availability for visits depends on what stage of the build I’m at.
10. Can I bring my own trailer?
Yes, we do accept customer-provided trailers, but they must meet certain requirements. The trailer must have a square shape with no curved ceilings and be in good or like-new condition. You will need to provide clear pictures of your trailer for approval before we can proceed.
